I’m Chris Adkin, welcome to the home of my blog. I currently work for Pure Storage as their SQL Server solutions architect for EMEA. If you have any storage related SQL Server performance challenges, I would like to hear from you. If you are an existing customer or are interested in what Pure Storage has to offer, I am also available to deliver my material to you in person. I primarily cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa, however, I can also visit you if you are based in the Asia Pacific Japan region also.

I have been working with databases for over seventeen years and I have experience across a wide spectrum of industry sectors, both public and private, from start ups to blue chip multi nationals, from service providers and software houses to in house IT departments. 

I have been the technical lead on a variety of projects, mainly around solving business critical performance and scalability issues and posses a deep understanding of enterprise class database architectures and solutions.

During my career I have been fortunate enough to work on projects for the European Space Agency, BMW, Siemens, numerous leading high street retailers and the NHS National Programme for IT.

Specialties: – All aspects of SQL Server administration.
– Tuning and scaling multi-tier software platforms from coding to design through to architecture. 
– Technical leadership in database related service delivery and operations.

I am also an active speaker both on the UK user group and Pass European circuits.

    • Are you using a storage plugin with a default storage class that automatically creates persistent volumes and binds the persistent volume claim to the persistent volume ?
